How Will I Make A Change? I'll Change.
I'm a firm believer that in order to change the world you must first change yourself. I brought it up in class that after I graduate from this current education system, I am never looking back. That has been my mentality from day one, that I don't feel that I owe it anything. To me, it's taken my money, taken 16 years of my time, and prepared me for nothing except how to distinguish a volcanic rock from a normal one. I am not prepared through this "education" to go out and make house payments, do my own taxes, or even budget my own money. These are all things that I had to learn on my own and many people will be just as ready for the real world without and education, as I am right now. So, you can see why I'm pissed. If I've literally paid you thousands and thousands of dollars and you haven't given me nothing but a piece of paper saying I'm "educated"(whatever that means), then what do I owe you? Everything. I need to change myself and use my experiences to better this system for the next guy. For the next girl, I need to let my voice be heard and make a change. I have more knowledge about the current education system than any old guy or lady on the state board, simply because I'm IN it. It's up to us, right here and right now to do our part for the next people that walk through these doors.
